    “Could be so much better”

The owners house and the 2 gites are for sale, the owners, whilst lovely people appear to have lost interest in the business. Major concern, the smoke alarm was open with no battery in it. A couple of gripes, WiFi is advertised, but not available, "we need to get someone in to fix it" Satelilite TV didn't work on our arrival, the box was changed and TV was available but no remote for the box was forthcoming. Dishwasher in the property, but no washing machine. Steep open staircase, with somewhat rickety bannisters on the landing is not ideal for very young children, or people with mobility problems. The gite was spotlessly clean on our arrival, the location is quiet and peaceful, yet close to many place worth visiting, Quimperle is an intersting town, whilst Pont Aven is stunning. The pizza van in Querrien is worth a visit if you don't fancy cooking. Steep open staircase, not ideal for very young children, or people with mobility problems.

“A little slice of heaven in Les Avens - Brittany”

Hmmmm where to begin......amazing grounds for the girls (5 and 3yrs) to run around in, fantastic hospitality from Julie and Alan (like visting distant relatives) and perfectly placed to visit the beach and other interesting places around Les Avens. Highlights of our trip included the many beaches recommended by Julie and Alan in the information booklet, a trip to the Chapel of Sainte-Barbe du Faouet (Rapunzel's house according to my girls!), a walk around Roches du Diable and a cycle along the Green Way starting at Pays de Rosporden. We hope to come back soon.

    “Very relaxing”

Very relaxing 4 day stay. The property is in a quiet hamlet about 15/20 mins walk from Querrien. Good parking....good facilities....great view over valley. Querrien is a nice village...2 nice patisseries...and a good convenience store. Would go again.

    “Brilliant rural retreat”

What a find! Deep in the heart of the French countryside but an easy 15 minute drive of a charming French market town, a lovely characterful converted barn, within easy reach of Brittany's unspoilt beaches. Ideal for families who would like to sample country life complete with chickens and ducks or for those who enjoy interesting walks and good food on a reasonable budget. We loved it and found Alan and Julie the perfect hosts/owners. Can't wait to go again!

“Beautiful property, beautiful location, we'll be back next year!”

We enjoyed a wonderful week here with our 18 month old. Julie was a fantastic hostess and nothing was too much trouble - the brand new highchair and paddling pool were much appreciated! The photos don't do justice to the location. The views are incredible and it's a rural paradise, our little boy loved chasing the friendly chickens around the beautiful garden. The location is great too, with nice food shops in walking distance and lots of fantastic restaurants nearby. All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely, relaxing holiday, particularly with children. We hope to book again for next year!
