Local Area Info :
The Park Estate was originally part of the Royal Forest of Banff and was granted by King Alexander II to a Norman knight, Sir Walram de Normanville in 1242. The current Castle is a large rambling, harled mansion which may have foundations from the 13th Century, but was built or rebuilt into a Z-plan tower house in 1536. In the 1700’s a number of extensions were added to Park changing it from a fortified house into a large Georgian country mansion and in 1829 the final addition of a Gothic Tower was added. The Castle is the family home of the Campbell Wilsons and is set in extensive grounds with historic plantings.

My husband and I stayed for two nights here. The castle is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are perfect. We were welcomed with tea and scones by an amazing hostess, Becky. You feel like you have to place all to yourself at times, and it is such a relaxing and tranquil setting. Becky was kind enough to let us visit her hairy coos, introducing us to Rory. She also makes a delicious breakfast and helped us decide what to visit on our days out with maps and directions! This is truly a gem of a place to stay and I hope we get the chance to visit again!

My first trip to Scotland and my first stay at a castle. It was beyond words and every minute spent there was a trip back in history. The rooms were furnished to reflect the time period and done in perfection. Our host was gracious and provided a delightful breakfast to start the day. Becky was helpful in suggesting places to visit and sites to see. I would recommend Castle of Park to anyone looking to stay in a beautiful castle and enjoy the hospitality of a wonderful host.

Live like a Laird!
We had a family wedding to attend so decided to connect with our Scottish heritage a bit beforehand. I wanted to surprise my brother and sister with staying in a castle for the night and I think I stumbled across an absolute gem! There are only 3 bedrooms that are let out so we had a room each - what a luxury to have the whole place to ourselves! Each room is different and has its own charm. I was in the one on the same floor as the lounge(s!) and the bed was so comfortable I don't think i moved all night! I also had a luxurious long hot bath in my claw foot bath tub. My sister was in a room that may well have been bigger than her apartment back home. The owner was non-intrusive but we invited her to join us for the welcome tea and she was lovely, and very interesting to talk to. She pointed us in the direction of Rory the highland Cow that rules his herd on the property so we set out for an explore. We had an alarming minute of thinking we were being stampeded but the cows just want to see if we had anything to eat! The breakfast in the morning was delicious, my brother still raves about the cooked salmon. In all a fantastic interlude to our jaunt through through the highlands!

A truly magical place to stay!
I stayed here for over a week whilst in the area for work and what a refreshing change from the norm! The castle is beautiful and every room has the most wonderful and unique features! You will notice something new every time you walk into a room, it feels like a piece of living history. Wonderful host Becky, who is most accommodating and very friendly. A definite must stay for anyone looking to stay in the area. A very enjoyable week, I'd recommend it to anyone.
Fantastic setting and fantastic family and hosts stay here!
I attended a two day business meeting in the area and could not have been more pleased with the choice of place to stay. The castle is beautiful and as you drive the long drive you feel like you are entering luxury. Becky was my host and she couldn't be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and I was greatly entertained by her two polite and chatty children. Breakfast was a good fry up and plenty of fresh fruit as well as yoghurt available as well. Thank you Becky we will be back!

A must if you are in the area!
If you will be in this part of Scotland, stay in Castle of Park! It is a great place to use as a base to go out and explore the surrounding areas. Decoration is spot on and you feel transported back in time. Becky is a wonderful host, very helpful with travel tips regardless of where you are traveling in Scotland. Next time we are in Scotland, we will definitely be back!

Feel like Royalty for a night
We splurged on the Silver Room for our anniversary and we were so glad we did. It was a large, beautiful room. There are only 3 rooms total. We had access to all the rooms on the first floor which includes several lovely rooms. We couldn't decide where to spend our time since there were so many choices. The castle was like a museum. The furnishings and decor were great and the mural on the ceiling in the great room was amazing. Becky was a great host and helped us with all of our questions. Lots of books available on Scotland and castles. We also enjoyed the spacious grounds. We had a delicious breakfast that includes the best smoked salmon and eggs. Definitely would recommend staying for at least one night to say you have stayed in a castle.

Beautiful Castle Stay
The only thing more amazing than staying in a castle is having such a friendly and wonderful hostess as Becky and the fantastic food she cooks. Castle of Park is exquisite. The grounds are gorgeous, the drawing room is beautiful, and all the decor is a nod to the past with the most carefully selected antiques. Just so, so wonderful!! During our two day stay, we booked a dinner and Becky provided us with the most delicious salmon I've ever eaten. If you love castles, beautiful scenery, a slice of history and good food, you'll LOVE Castle of Park. A huge thank you to Becky for being such a wonderful hostess. :)

Living in a splendid castle!
We stayed here 3 nights in the large and elegant Silverroom and we enjoyed it so much. You are invited to use the splendid drawing rooms on the complete 1st floor and so it happens you feel almost like some Earl from Park ☺️ The host is very amiable and helpful to discover Aberdeenshire. You have a huge park of yourself with Highland cows where you can enjoy the tranquility and explore secret spots in the garden.
So pleased we were able to return
Becky makes you so welcome at this amazing castle. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she offered a lift to and from a local restaurant or indeed to cook us dinner. On our return from dinner, the fire had been lit, wine glasses left out, so lovely thoughtful touches. The Laird room is the easy to access and has a wonderful bathroom. Breakfast way above average with great sausages and eggs. Nothing to complain about at all, this is the place to visit. If you need an early morning call, Becky has a very novel way of providing it, but it certainly works! Cannot wait to revisit Thanks Becky you are a star
Exceeded my expectations
After reading the reviews we booked in. Wow! The reviews don't do it justice. We enjoyed meeting the hostess Becky. She was friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated. But the house and her art treasures were a joy to behold. Spend time going to room to room to take it all in. There is a book that explains the house's history. Be sure to meet Bogus her gorgeous Dachshund. He happily turns on his back for a tummy rub.

One Night Anniversary Stay
My husband and I stayed overnight here a few weeks ago on our anniversary trip to Scotland. We just loved it! We wanted to drive from Edinburgh through the east coast of Scotland up into Aberdeenshire, and chose to stay here at the end of that day. We were greeted warmly by Rebecca, the caretaker/owner. We didn't get in until around 8 PM, and hadn't eaten dinner, so she suggested a spot in nearby coastal village of Banff. We returned later and enjoyed our room, The Silver Suite. We were up early so we could walk around the other rooms and see the grounds, and had breakfast before our way out. I had chosen Castle of Park because it was convenient in location, looked well kept up, and most importantly, meant we were staying in an actual castle! I am so glad we did. The room we stayed in was very big and spacious, and the bathroom too. The other rooms we could enjoy were spacious as well. All of the area was decorated to make you feel as if you are transported hundreds of years ago. I very much liked that there were only 4 other people staying there, so it didn't feel too crowded. The surrounding grounds were very lovely. There is a garden you can stroll through, and very cute furry cows on a neighboring farm. The breakfast was very good and made to order by Rebecca herself. My only regret is that I didn't request for us to have dinner there on our arrival night. That would have been more enjoyable and relaxing. The place we went to in Banff was good, but nothing terribly special. All in all, I would highly recommend Castle of Park!

“Loved our stay”
We stayed for two nights in this wonderful castle. Becky and family were so lovely and made our stay truly memorable. We stayed in the suite which was huge and very comfortable. My father stayed in the Tudor room and loved it so much he didn't want to leave. The castle has amazing artefacts and furniture, so well presented and added to the great ambience. We felt like royalty for a couple of days. Thanks Becky. I highly recommend to others. Stayed June 2015, travelled with family
The reviews are all accurate, this is a must stay at B&B. The rooms both public and bedrooms full of history and art,all mod cons and a great breakfast, especially the sausages. Will return here as a matter of course whenever it the area. The cafe also looks excellent. Brilliant. Thanks Rebecca Stayed July 2015, travelled with family

“What an amazing place!”
My husband and I while travelling with 2 other couples recently had the opportunity to stay at the castle for 2 nights and celebrate my 50th birthday. Becky the owner is amazing. When we arrived her and her family made us feel welcome, booked us a place to eat dinner the first night and drove us down. The second evening we celebrated my 50th birthday. Becky prepared and served the meal which was very good, as are the breakfasts. We stayed in the Silver Room which is amazing. Through the castle is beautiful artwork and furniture while at the same time, this is a family home with lots of warmth and charm. Thank you!

“Everything you could wish for when staying in a castle”
We enjoyed a wonderful 4-day break in this superb castle. The rooms are splendidly furnished and decorated, Becky's welcome and interest in ensuring our comfort was so genuine, and the meals she prepared were delicious. We could quite easily have spent each day in the castle soaking up the atmosphere, or in the grounds exploring the woodland. But in the nearby area there is also a beautiful coastline, many historic country houses, wonderful countryside and picturesque villages to see. We could not have asked for anything more.
