    “Splendid tranquillity”

Five us of stayed here when attending a three day classic car rally in Laon. There are only four bedrooms available to rent which was great as we took all the rooms so it felt very exclusive. Charming and helpful hosts, beautiful chateau, wonderful rooms and idyllic grounds. Loan is only about twenty minutes by car, but the chateau is isolated and peaceful. If you are looking for rural splendour and tranquillity with driveable access to a major city, then look no further.

“A terrific base for exploring local history”

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at the Chateau de Pancy, including dinner with the owners on one of the nights. We enjoyed swimming in the beautiful full-sized outdoor pool. We were interested in World War I history, and the Chateau is close to a number of sites, including the terrific Dragon's Lair on the famous "Chemin des Dames". By car it was only minutes away. The city of Laon is also close by. Our young children shared a bedroom while my wife and I shared another. The rooms and the setting were very impressive. We would go back.

“A very welcoming Chateau is lovely location”

We stayed at the Chateau for one night on the15th September 2012 and had a most enjoyable time. Anne and Jacques made us feel most welcome and were very enttaining over our dinner at the chateau which we highly recommend. This is a great stop over point before exploring the champagnes region being about three hours from the tunnel. We would definitely stay here again and dinner at the Chateau is a must.

“Classic cars, English tea and Strawberries!”

This is our second visit , we arrived in three classic cars to a warm welcome from Anne and Jacques. We were greeted with champagne and canopes followed by a delicious supper prepared by Anne, we all agreed the fresh strawberries for dessert were the best ever. We all love this place and we taught Anne how to make English tea! After an afternoon,s driving we returned to the chateau and Anne had a fresh pot ready for our arrival......a nice touch! One morning Jacques assisted with the daily washing of the classic cars. We will return next year and hopefully the weather will be kinder next time.

    “A gem in the forest”

We visited this fantastic location a second time and enjoyed the warm hospitality of Anne and Jacques once more. The family owned château lies in a secluded park in an absolutely tranquil environment. After a hot day the swimming pool cools you off followed by a glass of Champagne on the terrace. A lovely dinner with engaged discussions amongst guests and owners concludes a memorable evening.

“Stay in a chateau for half the price you'd expect”

We were in the area to find the battlefield where my wife's Grandad fought in 1918. She looked around for hotels in the area and found this, for the same price as some very ordinary modern hotels. The price seemed to good to be true, but we booked it, expecting there to be some kind of drawback. There is none. You really do stay in a genuine chateau, with the family who have lived there since the 1840s. Our room's huge windows looked out over the long, winding driveway, a rolling lawn, some towering trees in full blossom and a calm duck pond reflecting the sky. There's a ruin down in the orchard and we saw badgers scampering into the hedges when we drove past it at night. Just an idyllic spot. Madame made continental breakfast for us each morning and sat and chatted, and on the Saturday night we ate a four course home-made meal with superb wine (and champagne beforehand) for around £20 a head.

We stayed at Pancy last May and really enjoyed the warm hospitality of Anne and Jacques, incredible and quiet environment, excellent drinks (especially the Champagne!) and dinner with the children. To be recommended !
