    “Amazing Agritourismo (aka B&B)”

I first experienced the beauty of and hospitality offered at this agritourismo in 2002 during a tour of Tuscany sponsored by a local college. Our native Italian teachers/guides had previously lived in Pistoia and heard Tenuta di Pieve a Celle was just opening after an extensive remodel by its multi-lingual Italian owners and would offer us an opportunity to practice our Italian as well as experience a traditional Tuscan setting. Returning for a sixth visit this Spring was like “coming home” to the same welcoming and hospitable family. Owners Cesare and Fiorenza have clearly enjoyed great success over the years because they and their family created an idyllic Italian retreat (accessible by car or from the Pistoia train station by taxi) at the end of a winding, cypress-lined road where one can enjoy a modernized “typical Tuscan estate house of 1850” with guest suites featuring period furnishings, marble/tile baths, flat-screen TVs, free wi fi, use of the extensive library and music collection in the first floor “guest lounge,” an outdoor pool, a covered outside dining area and sprawling estate grounds where they grow much of the fresh food they serve as well as olive trees, wine grapes, flowers, woodlands and picturesque vistas beyond. Inside, the formal dining room reflects the owners’ love of art gathered from around the world and is the perfect backdrop for memorable breakfasts with homemade offerings (such as torts, coffee cakes, bread, jams and a fabulous cappuccino) and gourmet dinners for their guests who remember to make a reservation at breakfast. I’ve attached a few photos of the dining room and the most recent dinner my travel companion and I enjoyed there, which included a pasta with seafood and chopped zucchini blossoms, a beautiful seabass and an almond flavored semi-freddo dessert (which we sadly were too intent on eating to photograph). Hopefully, the few photos included here are enough to convey both the peaceful setting and cook’s artistry. As always, we were sad to say goodbye but knew for certain we would return….

It was a wonderful experience at the Tenuta di Pieve a Celle. Beautiful location with very charming hosts. They have three dogs who are also very lovely. “Dolce far niente!”

My husband and I came to this super B&B to rest and unwind. Our room was very clean, comfortable and the atmosphere was warm and charming. There are only five rooms, so there are not many other guests around. We had the pool to ourselves for hours during the day. The grounds are well-kept and include wooded paths to explore, just beyond the pool area. We were blown away by the delicious meals prepared by Fiorenza. It was truly a special experience. We were looked after very well, and also left to to do our own thing during the day. Perfetto. Room Tip: If you w

    “A Home Away From Home”

I travel often for my villa rental business and like to seek out little gems to stay in for a few days at a time. In a gift book that I received ( Go Slow Italy/Alistair Sawday) was a write up of Tenuta di Pieve a Celle in Pistoia. It sounded both charming and inviting...Little did we know how wonderful it would be. Our hosts, Fiorenza, Cesare and Marina became our little family abroad. Nothing was too difficult and our comfort and pleasure were of most importance to them. We were greeted in royal fashion by the owners and their 3 lovely Goldens. We were shown to our room which was so typically warm and delightfully decorated. As an interior designer myself, I could appreciate the attention to detail in the fabrics, furniture, little touches. A stack of beautiful travel books and a bowl of freshly cut flowers, completed the ambience. The Tenuta is filled with books and collectibles and art which gives you an incite into the very interesting and traveled owners. We had heard how absolutely wonderful the meals were...all home cooked with love. Each meal was better than the last and we chose to eat at the Tenuta over many of the local restaurants. The pastas, main course, desserts, especially the homemade cakes and cookies were divine!!! When we needed advice on directions, local attractions, etc. Cesare was only too happy to assist. By the end of a few days, we felt so connected and found it hard to leave.Unfortunately my husband took ill the night before our flight to the UK and the owners insisted on driving us at 5:00AM to the airport in Pisa...an hour away. Where do you find such gracious hospitality? . The owners went above and beyond in our book and we will be forever grateful. Now we plan to return again next time we go to Italy and I'm sure when we get back to the Tenuta it will feel like coming home.............................. Stayed October 2015, travelled as a couple
