Remarks

Campaign This room with soft colors produces an impression of sweetness and tranquillity. Chenevière La Chenevière evokes the local traditional culture of textile hemp which was used in the manufacture of sails and ropes for vessels Janaie The Janaie is a spacious room for a little kitsch, sober and pleasant decoration. Travel The travel room evokes our memories of travel, particularly in Asia and the Morocco Schooner The schooner room was designed in the memory of the inhabitants of Miniac-Morvan (morvan means "sea people") who were sailors 6 months long during the fishing campains on the banks of Newfoundland.

    “Lovely place and welcome.”

Madame gave us a very warm and friendly welcome and our room was clean and nicely decorated. A bottle of wine was quickly produced after our long journey. Dinner (one bottle of wine free another half finished bottle paid for), bed and breakfast came to €148 without gratuity. It is a very handsome, large house in typical grey stone and slate tiles and well maintained. It is on its own off a quiet country road and therefore quiet. There is a jacuzzi in the well kept garden but being a cold winter's night it did not tempt us! We had a slight flood in the bathroom when the shower insisted on throwing some water out horizontally. The bedroom and bathroom heating is electric which one can control oneself. Dinner at €28 each was 'fair' - some things came out of a tin or jar. Breakfast was good with home made jams and good coffee. Although it must have been infuriating for the French reviewer whose friends found it had been double booked, the review, which marked the place right down, is not really of much help as a description. “Friendly and welcoming - 5 Star!”

This was our first experience of a Chambre d'hote and we were surprised at the very high standard of accommodation and food. Our room (Chambre campagne) was very clean and welcoming with doors opening onto the gardens. The food was of a very high standard as was the wine. They even have a selection of local ciders and jams for sale. Veronique and Bertrand (and of course their friend Paula) made our 4 day stay in the area very enjoyable. Although they have only owned the premises for less than 4 months they are already proving themselves to be excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful relaxing time. There are even spa facilities available in the extensive grounds. If you want stay in the St Malo area then look no further then La Maison Neuve Stayed July 2012, travelled as a couple

“Great place to stay in this area”

We thoroughly enjoying staying in the peace & tranquility of this home. Enjoyed the farm yard, wondering about. We had a comfortable room, with coffee in our room. The breakfast was delicious, including homemade crepes. Maggie & Fanrice were entertaining & well informed of what to do & see in the area.

“A little remote and hard to find”

La Maison Neuve provides very clean and spacious accommodation together with an excellent breakfast. The house itself is large and rather elegant. We had considerable difficulty in locating La Maison Neuve and this was only after we enlisted some local help who actually drove their car ahead so that we might follow. We were a little disconcerted on arrival to find that somehow there had been a mix-up with our booking. Although the owners eventually found our on-line booking they were unable to provide the evening meal that we had requested on either of the two nights. Lacking an evening meal on the first night, we went to a local restaurant recommended by the owners which was probably one of the worst meals we have had anywhere. Stayed September 2012, travelled with friends
