    Best of both worlds

My hubby and 21 month old son stayed for 3 nights to go hiking in Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens and there were so many things about this rental that were fabulous, but I will try to be brief. 1) The owners are so welcoming and helpful but not omnipresent. They know exactly when to show up to offer things like garden veggies or homemade pie but mostly leave you alone. They are always available if you do need them (quick text messages and quick replies.) 2) The house was very well stocked, especially the kitchen. So many rental homes have such sparsely stocked kitchen goods that it is not conducive to cooking good meals, but not this one. For example, they had a salad spinner, garlic press, condiments/oils on hand. We never found ourselves without something we needed. 3) The landscaping and grounds were gorgeous, and my son loved the koi pond. Glenda let him feed the fish. And speaking of pets, the dog was so gentle with my overzealous toddler. 4) The breakfasts were great and delivered right to the casita door. The owners were very flexible with our breakfast needs. Delicious food complete with homemade jams and sauces. Absolutely loved it here and if we ever come back to the area will definitely stay here. You get the best of both worlds: privacy of a rental with the customer service of a hotel.

    Charming cottage, beautifully landscaped property

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Casita. The cottage has everything you could want or need for your stay including a well appointed kitchen. The kids loved the hot tub. My husband loved the Traeger grill. (we are now looking into getting one ourselves) Everything was clean and inviting. The grounds are beautiful! There are colorful flowers and plants everywhere with many lovely places to sit and enjoy the view. I wish we had more time there and hope to go back someday. It is nicely located to see Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helen's. The owners John and Glenda are wonderful!! Very friendly and kind. We had a lovely evening sitting with them by the outdoor fireplace. What a special treat. Their dog Malley is as sweet as can be. And the breakfasts were also fabulous. When we arrived there were even delicious home made cookies. What more could you ask for. They have thought of everything. You can see and feel the love and care John and Glenda put into everything. I would highly recommend staying here. The Houghton family

Amazing hosts and a well maintained property

Glenda and John made sure our stay was memorable. We enjoyed the koi fish pond and the patio in the evenings. Glenda made sure our dietary requirements were taken care of during breakfast. The house was well equipped with all the utensils to cook a meal. Also they'd stocked up on some basic items in the fridge. We picked up some fresh vegetables from their garden and cooked. We loved their dog Mally. She was so well behaved and loving. We enjoyed the documentary collection in the house. Also, they made sure all the outdoor activities in Mt.rainier was kept within reach so that we can plan our trip to the mountains easily. All in all a great stay! Would recommend this place to anyone who is going to Mt.Rainier and nearby areas.

    Excellent Stay

The Casita was a perfect choice for our trip to do some hiking in and around Mount Rainier National Park. The location is close to the Park, White Pass, and Chinook Pass which all offer a wide variety of hiking trails. John and Glenda were great hosts and it was nice to just sit and visit with them. They obviously spend a lot of time working in their well kept garden areas and the koi pond. The breakfasts were delicious with so many choices. The Casita itself was exceptionally clean and is equipped with everything you would ever need for your stay. We really enjoyed returning from our hiking, cleaning up, and then slipping into the hot tub to relax and read. In all, a five star plus property with hosts to match and we are already booked to return next summer for a longer stay.

    Great Christmas Visit!

John and Glenda - the Casita was charming - very comfortable and made our Christmas visit to Packwood/White Pass great. The morning breakfasts were a treat and very delicious. Skiing was spectacular - White Pass is a hidden gem. You both are great hosts. Thanks again!
