    “Great B&B in Bethel!”

We spent 3 nights at Holidae House and had a great stay. John and Jeanette were great hosts and very welcoming. We had two rooms, both of which were charming and very clean. Nice amenities, delicious breakfasts (eggs, home-made blueberry pancakes, apple/raisin French toast, fresh ground coffee, etc.). Nice common room to play board games and have tea/apres-ski drinks and home-made baked goods. Great home base for skiing at Sunday River. Stayed January 2016, travelled with family

“Southern Hospitality in the heart of Bethel!”

We found the Holidae House online and we are glad this was the B&B we chose. We felt right at home the minute we walked in. The Inn is impeccably clean and the decor so warm and inviting. Hosts John and Jeanette were gracious enough to let us check in much earlier and stopped what they were doing to show us around the inn. They make themselves available 24 hours a day and go out of their way with any requests. Our room was spacious with a closet and large bathroom. It was equipped with wifi, flat screen tv, DVD player, sound machine (great when traveling with kids), hairdryer, toiletries, luxurious towels, wine glasses for a bit of romance, beautiful Italian glass cups for water, very comfortable bed and beautifully decorated. It was charming! The Inn is walking distance to just about everything the town of Bethel has to offer. There is coffee, tea and hot cocoa available 24/7 in the dining room as well as a home baked treat in the evening. The sitting room is a great place to visit with friends, or other guests and a few adult beverages are there for your enjoyment. John and Jeanette have local information and reading materials in the entryway. The breakfast was fabulously delicious. Thank you Jeanette! They make it a point to remember all their guests by name, and welcome kids of all ages! We only wish we could have stayed longer than one night! Yes, we will be back!

“Spent our first weekend as an engaged couple here!”

My finance and I spent a few nights here for some skiing at Sunday River days after we'd gotten engaged, and loved our visit. John and Jeanette were so sweet, and even left an engagement card for us on our door. The drive to Sunday River was easy, and we got to explore the surrounding area. We would come back! Stayed December 2015, travelled as a couple

    “Just Perfect”

Loved this B&B! The owner John and his wife are just so intriguing and you can tell they really love what they do. These two really make the place what it is - which is amazing! The breakfast they prepared for us each morning was so tasty and great! Whatever you ask for, they will provide for you. The two did everything they could to make our stay perfect. The rooms are cute with a lot of character, and the shower was amazing with great water pressure! Would recommend every time - hoping to go back! Stayed January 2016, travelled with family

    “5 day ski vacation”

Came from Tampa, Florida and spent 5 days and nights at the Holiday House B&B while visiting for my ski vacation at Sunday River Ski Resort which is only 5 miles from town. The advantage of staying in town includes the great beautiful rooms in a house turned B&B that is over 100 years old built solidly and upgraded with all the amenities. Walking distance to several restaurants. I ate at the Suds Pub which has the best Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder you could ask for. But the highlight of the Holiday House are the owners. John and Jeanette are incredibly attentive to every need you may have. Jeanette's breakfasts were by far better than any restaurant you could find. Home-made blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon. Sour-Cream Strawberry Texas size French Toast, Breakfast Crepes, Fresh Ground coffee every day and come home to fresh baked cookies. I felt right at home and more like a family atmosphere than a business. The owners are incredibly nice and personable. Complimentary wine and other liquors are in the sitting room if you choose to have a nightcap when you come in. I can't say enough about how nice it is to stay there. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I come back and neither would guests I met there that have been coming for over 10 years. Stay at the Holiday House and you will be so glad you did! You'll be staying with friends. See for yourself! Colin Clark.

    “Hospitality and humor”

Stayed here on 2 different occasions, most recently under the new ownership of John and Jeanette. This is a very cozy inn and John and Jeanette add to it with their genuine southern hospitality, friendliness, humor, and amazing cooking. Even with a full inn and overflowing dining room they were so calm and chill. They made my family feel right at home, No one wanted to leave. We will most definitely be back. “Our first B&B Experience! They set the bar high for any future B&B's!”

Spare yourself another boring, busy, and loud hotel. GO HERE INSTEAD!! We've never been to a B&B before, and just loved this one. I've heard that the owners are what make a B&B. If that's the case, this place has all than and more. The owners, John and Jeanette are just the salt of the earth. True southern hospitality in the western mtns of Maine. It doesn't get any better. Each room is beautifully decorated and has it's own bathroom, there is a common area living room, and dining room. At any time you can go to the dining room, make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, and have a homemade snack made by Jeanette. Breakfast was delicious both mornings that we were there. We were there for the x country skiing and snowshoeing, but everyone else was there for Sunday River, just a 12 minute drive away. We plan to go back in the summer for the hiking. Staying made a 3 day weekend weekend feel like we took a vacation. LOVED IT!

    “Elegant first class b&b”

My first time staying. Innkeepers were charming and very hospitable. Complimentary cordials and baked goods out every night. Gourmet breakfast and great coffee. Bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to downtown attractions. Just 6 Miles to Sunday River. Unlike Riverview or Grand Summit, you actually get sleep here as it's quiet and a step back in time.. I'd definitely stay here again Stayed February 2016, travelled solo

    “Just like long lost friends...”

it is exactly like opening the door to some friends you haven't seen in a while. We felt so relaxed and at ease here. They are better than friends because they make you delicious breakfast fresh and hot every morning. The attentiveness is stand alone. It snowed a few inches one evening, and I went out to clean my car off and to my surprise it was done and the wipers were up. They are extremely thoughtful and just an absolute joy to converse with. Be prepared to regret leaving. Must go! We will see them again soon! Stayed February 2016, travelled as a couple

Our visit was 2 nights in late February, 2016. First, the place is meticulously CLEAN. Just what you would want a B&B to be. The new owners (just got there last summer) have done a wonderful job of updating the exterior and making the whole place bright and friendly. Everything you can think of seems aimed at taking care of you. The owner couple are a pair of energizer bunnies, going the extra steps to adjust to your preferences.Food is excellent too. So many little things, the candies, the cookies, the complementary wine & brandy, good coffee around all the time, plenty of space, antiques galore. I don't see how you could do better. Stayed February 2016
