Cozy Paradise Ocean View Cabins

Beautiful new cabin furnished with a king size bed featuring soft, comfortable, 100% cotton sheets and duvets. Perfect for a single person or a couple. Located on a rural sustainable, family farm on the slope of Mauna Kea (the tallest mountain on the planet). Epic views of the Pacific Ocean close enough to hear the waves and watch the whales when they are in season. Our farm also features an incredibly beautiful accessible waterfall which cascades down to the ocean less than a 5 min walk from your cabin! On site laundry service is available. We have a spotless bathroom and a full community kitchen to prepare your own food. We love to share seasonally farm fresh produce we have grown when available, including bananas, papayas, and eggs from our chickens. We have complementary Wi-Fi internet access available to our guests, and best of all the stream and waterfall are accessible and just a short walk from your cabin. The hosts live on the farm in the Waterfall cabin about 100 yards from the cluster of cabins and our caretakers, Sean and Margaret live in the Earth cabin. Ours is a community setting with a common kitchen and bathrooms for the three cabins in the cluster. Your cabin is essentially a private bedroom with a lanai (porch) overlooking the kitchen garden. Outdoor living is the natural order here at our home in paradise. We respect our guests' privacy and are available to recommend our favorite places to go and things to do on the Big Island of Hawaii. Pepe'ekeo is a small rural town on the beautiful Hamakua coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Hamakua translates as - Ha - the breath of life - Ma - belonging to - Ku -the gods - A - all of them. So our farm is on the coast belonging to the breath of life of all the gods. Yes, this is truly paradise! Only 12 miles from Hilo town, it has convenient access to many of the Island attractions, yet has a laid back Hawaiian style country feel. Our 15 acre farm is fully fenced in, providing ample space for our guests' privacy. Getting Around Vehicle rental is fairly essential for getting around the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. Other Things to Note We have three sweet and friendly dogs here on the farm who roam freely within our completely fenced in 15 acres. They're a good little bunch and we hope you enjoy them. We live on a sustainable family farm in paradise, and are passionate about farm to table meals! We raise our own cows to help us keep the grass cut and also to keep our freezer full of beef. Our cows graze freely on our land and live happily and healthfully, playing and basking in the Hawaii sunshine. We have a flock of free range chickens as well and collect fresh eggs daily. When available we will put some in the fridge for you. Also we have fresh fruit on the farm that we happily share. Our wide variety of bananas, papayas and pineapples are growing in abundance as well as beautiful squash and other seasonal veggies. If you appreciate real, fresh food come visit to experience a true taste of Hawaii!

    beautiful cabin

We loved this leg of our journey in our beautiful cabin, sharing time with sweet and like-minded people who use the land to create such a wonderful way of life. The cabin was cozy and bed was extremely comfortable. The shared kitchen was well-stocked for all of our cooking needs and we truly enjoyed the outdoor showers. The location itself was truly paradise. We loved walking the grounds and taking sunset strolls down to the ocean and past the little stream and waterfall on the way. This was truly a paradise and was great for our little family. Our two-year-old loved the sweet dogs and cat on the property and the fruits and farm-fresh eggs. We hope our travels bring us back here again in the future.

We would love to stay again

My husband and I were enjoyed our stay at Mary &Marcus 's sky cabin. People here and their dogs make us fell welcomed and cheerful. Love the ocean view and nights sound of the nature :). We would love to stay again if we visit Hilo next time!!

I'll start by describing the place. There's two large greenhouse structures as you enter the property. As you drive past them on the grass, you get to the main cabin area, which consists of 4 small cabin-like structures. One of these houses the kitchen and bathroom, one houses resident caretakers, and two are for renting. Our cabin was nice and clean, with a neat Ikea style eye for design. From our window, we could see the ocean from the bed and had the opportunity of seeing a very beautiful sunrise. There's also a nice lanai in front. The main thing I want to point out, which we would have liked to know, is that there is virtually no privacy there. The kitchen is shared by all the guests and residents, and it's frankly too small to have more than one culinary project going at a time, so if you want to cook, you just have to wait your turn. There is only one bathroom, shared by all guests and residents, and it is right next to the kitchen! This is a really bad design for multiple obvious reasons, and might leave you feeling a bit self conscious if you need to use it while others are cooking on the other side of the wall. The showers are outdoor, and also are attached to the kitchen structure - you can actually make eye contact with someone washing dishes while you are showing if you wanted to. The hosts were really friendly overall, and the place is very pretty and located fairly close to Hilo. Just make sure you are ok with a college co-op style accommodation if you book this.

    special & beautiful place

Nick & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. What a special & beautiful place! The ocean views are gorgeous & the property offers access to a short walk to a beautiful stream with a waterfall, as well as to the nearby sea cliff--heavenly! Our bungalow offered us a cozy place to rest, complete with a super comfy king-sized bed, & the location was perfect for us, as it was central to anywhere we had an interest in exploring. It was pretty special being able to take a shower outside, too! My only regret, is not having another day or so to just chill & enjoy the property for all it has to offer--& to spend some time connecting with our kind & welcoming hosts. We'll have to do those things the next time we return. (Oh, & we loved being greeted by the pups every day. Hobson would lie on our doormat & guard our place, too; so sweet.)
